231 Ellsworth has been the recipient of The Wine Spectator "The Best of Award of Excellence" since 1992. This prestigious award recognizes restaurants for their commitment to excellence in presenting a world-class wine list to their guests.

Both the main and day cellars are temperature and humidity controlled. The main wine cellar has a storage capacity of over twelve thousand bottles. For daily service, a custom, cherry wood day cellar displays nearly eight hundred wine selections.

Looking for a hidden value or special birthday or anniversary wine? There is something for everyone to enjoy from this fifty-page book. The list consists mainly of California wines along with substantial French offerings. There is a deep selection of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with vintages dating back to the early 1960's. Bordeaux selections are varied and vintages date to the 1950's. There is a limited focus on wines from Australia, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Our wine by the glass program features select, quality offerings from around the world and will regularly highlight aged rarities as well as youthful values.

231 Ellsworth will play host to numerous wine events throughout the year. Wine events will include food and wine pairings and comparative tasting seminars. The restaurant is a regular stop for celebrity winemakers from around the world who come to match their wines with our savory menus. Educational seminars will offer our guests an opportunity to learn more about viticulture and the art of wine making.

Wine Director Richard Milkovich is available for questions regarding particular wines, cellar or bottle valuations, or food and wine pairings. 231 Ellsworth will have a Sommelier or Maitre D' on duty each evening to assist in selecting the perfect wine for your special evening.
